East 16th Street to Close for Pavement Work on Friday

East 16th Street, from Duff Avenue to Maxwell Avenue, will close starting Friday, Sept. 20, weather permitting, for pavement removal and replacement. The project is expected to take five to six weeks to complete.

This construction is part of a larger project contracted with Manatts Inc., which also includes the reconstruction of Quebec Street, Quebec Circle, and Glendale Avenue. The work will involve replacing pavement, curb, and gutter, upgrading sanitary systems, and improving storm intakes. Additionally, sidewalk ramps at intersections will be updated to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and expect delays during the closure period.

Traffic Shift on Lincoln Way Begins Friday

Starting Friday, Sept. 20, traffic will shift to a single lane in each direction on the eastbound lanes of Lincoln Way between Marshall and Franklin Avenues, weather permitting. This is to allow pavement removal and replacement on the westbound lanes.

The sidewalk on the north side of Lincoln Way in this area will also be closed. Business access from Lincoln Way will be closed, with traffic redirected to Marshall Avenue. Motorists should use alternate routes if possible and expect delays.

This is part of the ongoing reconstruction of Lincoln Way by Con-Struct, as the project reaches stage seven.
