Cyclones Eye Big 12, Playoff Spots Despite Setback

Iowa State's narrow 23-22 loss to Texas Tech may have dashed hopes for an undefeated season, but the Cyclones' path to success remains strong. With a 7-1 record and tied for second in the Big 12, Iowa State still has a clear shot at the conference championship and a potential College Football Playoff berth.

Upcoming games against Kansas, Cincinnati, Utah, and Kansas State give Iowa State chances to regain momentum and secure a spot in December’s big games. While a perfect season is out of reach, the Cyclones’ goals are far from over.

Cyclones in the NFL: Week 9 Recap

Breece Hall posted 74 rushing yards and 11 receiving yards in the Jets' 21-13 win over the Texans.

David Montgomery led with 73 rushing yards and 23 receiving in the Lions' 24-14 win over the Packers.

Eyioma Uwazurike recorded three tackles in the Broncos' loss to the Ravens.

Will McDonald IV logged a tackle and a fumble recovery in the Jets' win.

Xavier Hutchinson was targeted three times but had no catches for the Texans.

Charlie Kolar, Jake Hummel, T.J. Tampa, and Anthony Johnson Jr. were active but didn’t log stats.

Brock Purdy had a bye week.

Allen Lazard remains on IR.
