BioConnect Iowa Partners with ISU Soybean Research Center

BioConnect Iowa has joined the Iowa Soybean Research Center (ISRC) at Iowa State University as its latest partner. They will serve on the Industry Advisory Council, offering insights to enhance soybean research and industry growth. BioConnect Iowa will also provide financial support to further the center’s research efforts. This partnership aims to drive innovation and support Iowa’s soybean farmers.

Live Fire Training Scheduled for Friday, August 30

The Ames Fire Department will conduct live fire training at 5501 E. Lincoln Way on Friday, Aug. 30, starting at 9 a.m. The house will be burned down by mid-afternoon, with minimal impact expected for nearby residents. Smoke and rusty water may occur, but efforts will be made to reduce issues.

Welcome Paula Goodknight, a Behavior Interventionist at Ames Middle School. Goodknight became a teacher because she enjoys helping people and wanted a career working with children. If she has an hour of free time, she would like to sit down and read a good book

Ames CSD Welcomes Joe Roberts

Joe Roberts is a World History Teacher at Ames High School. Roberts became a teacher to guide the next generation to become better citizens and thinkers. If he has an hour of free time, he would like to play tennis, practice music, or game. Welcome to Ames!

Iowa State Dominates UNI 6-1; Fannon Secures 100th Win

Iowa State routed UNI 6-1 at the Cyclone Sports Complex, giving Coach Matt Fannon his 100th career win. The Cyclones scored three goals in each half, with five players finding the net, including first-time scorers Seulgi Lee, Hannah Shaw, and Isabella Agrusso. Shaw led the charge with a brace, while Morgan Furmaniak and Ella Zimmerman added to the tally. UNI's lone goal came from Macy Smith in the 41st minute. ISU now prepares to face nationally ranked Memphis on Sept. 1.

Iowa State Names 2024 Football Captains

Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell has announced the 2024 football team captains: seniors Beau Freyler, Jaylin Noel, and J.R. Singleton. Freyler and Noel return as captains for the second consecutive year, while Singleton earns the honor for the first time. A fourth captain will be selected weekly throughout the season.

The Cyclones kick off the season against FCS No. 22 North Dakota on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Jack Trice Stadium.
