Es Tas Evicted for Unpaid Rent, Appeals Court Decision
Es Tas Sports Bar and Grill in Ames was evicted on Dec. 2 after failing to pay over $25,000 in rent and penalties. The owners were notified on Nov. 5 to pay $4,900 in monthly rent by Nov. 8 but failed to comply. Owner Terrance Cullen appealed the court decision, claiming he was not properly served and expressing intent to pay the rent within a month.
Previously, Es Tas faced issues with its liquor license after 60 underage citations in 2023. The Ames City Council denied its 12-month renewal but later approved a more restrictive 8-month license.
