Iowa State Prepares for Big 12 Championship Showdown with Arizona State

Good Cop: Zander White
Iowa State is on fire, coming off their first-ever 10-win season and gunning for their first Big 12 Championship. With dynamic wide receivers Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel leading the offense, and a top-ranked pass defense, the Cyclones are in great shape. Arizona State’s defense is vulnerable, and if Iowa State's secondary holds up, they should have the upper hand.
Score Prediction: Iowa State 21, Arizona State 10
Bad Cop: Conner Swanson
Arizona State, led by Heisman-worthy running back Cam Skattebo, has been on a tear and poses a serious threat to Iowa State’s title hopes. Skattebo’s strong performance and Arizona State’s solid offense could control the game. Despite the Cyclones’ strong season, slowing down Skattebo will be key to their success.
Score Prediction: Arizona State 28, Iowa State 24
Iowa State Welcomes 2025 Recruiting Class

Iowa State head football coach Matt Campbell has announced the signing of 19 early recruits during the early signing period. The class, which includes 10 offensive and nine defensive players from nine states, emphasizes recruiting from successful high school programs within a six-hour radius of Ames.
Highlights include Algona High School's Alex Manske, Iowa's top-ranked quarterback, and six of the state's top-10 recruits, including four-star linebacker Will Hawthorne. The balanced group features talent across multiple positions, with a focus on players fitting Iowa State's values and competitive culture.
Gilbert Shines as No. 6 Iowa State Tops No. 5 Marquette, 81-70

In a top-10 showdown, No. 6 Iowa State defeated No. 5 Marquette 81-70, led by senior guard Keshon Gilbert's 24 points. Gilbert dominated early, scoring 18 first-half points, as the Cyclones shot a remarkable 64.3% from the field before halftime.
Despite a second-half shooting slump and a Marquette comeback to tie the game at 61, Iowa State responded with a decisive 14-0 run. Gilbert, unfazed by a hard elbow to the nose, returned to finish the game, embodying toughness and resilience. “He’s the engine that’s driving us,” said head coach T.J. Otzelberger.
