How Curtis Jones Moved from JUCO to Key Player for Iowa State
Curtis Jones, once overlooked during his high school days in Minnesota and at Indian Hills Community College, has become a key contributor for Iowa State's Sweet 16 basketball team. His journey from JUCO to a championship-level team was challenging and involved significant personal growth.
Jones emerged as a crucial player for the Cyclones, especially after a turning point in a game against TCU, where he began averaging 17.8 points per game. Despite early struggles, he gained confidence and earned consistent minutes, thanks to coach T.J. Otzelberger's trust.
Jones' perseverance reflects the growing trend of players finding success through multiple transfers, making him one of Iowa State's most important players for the 2024-25 season.
