Iowa State Campanile Celebrates 125 Years of History

The iconic bells of Iowa State University’s campanile marked 125 years with a celebration on Sunday. Attendees gathered north of the beloved tower for remarks from ISU President Wendy Wintersteen, musical performances, and two carillon compositions written by students. The event featured the ISU Brass Ensemble, Iowa State Singers, and carillonneur Tin-Shi Tam, concluding with the alma mater, “Bells of Iowa State.” The campanile has been a central part of student life for decades, chiming every 15 minutes and offering daily concerts while school is in session. A reception followed at the Memorial Union.
