Boone man arrested on sexual exploitation, enticing a minor charges
Nigel Baker
A Boone man, Nigel Baker, has been arrested and faces serious charges after a sting operation revealed his alleged intent to meet up with a 13-year-old for sex. The 29-year-old is currently being held in the Story County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
According to criminal complaints, Baker was apprehended on Tuesday at the Super 8 hotel in Ames, following an investigation by an organization dedicated to catching online predators. The group had posed as a 13-year-old decoy, engaging in conversations with Baker for several weeks.
Baker reportedly admitted to sharing explicit photos and messages with someone he believed to be a minor, as well as arranging a meeting for sexual purposes. He now faces charges of enticing a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor.
A preliminary hearing is set for August 19th.
