ISUPD Therapy Dog Zosia Passes Away
Zosia, a beloved therapy dog with the Iowa State University Police Department (ISUPD), passed away on Dec. 2. Born in Poland in 2011, she became Iowa’s first police therapy dog in 2019 after certification in 2017.
During her five years with ISUPD, Zosia visited classrooms, assisted with mental health training, and helped individuals overcome their fear of dogs. Her legacy continues through her descendants, Zebediah, Sydni, and Lena, who now serve with ISUPD. “She loved everyone the same,” said Kinsey Hauser, her handler. Zosia retired in May 2024 and was surrounded by loved ones at her passing.
