Undervalued Artwork Inside the Gerdin Business Building
The Iowa State Museum recently hosted an art walk inside the Gerdin Business Building led by Caitlin Patton. The tour showcased pieces like John Henry’s Ice Blue sculpture, which changes its appearance based on the viewer’s angle. Visitors admired three murals inside the building by Rose Frantzen, Fields of Endeavor, depicting Iowa State's business past, present, and future, with vibrant imagery of teamwork and industry. The tour ended with Manuel Neri's Escalita I, a deliberately unfinished statue that invites personal interpretation. The Iowa State University Museum offers monthly art walks showcasing such hidden gems.
