Rummage RAMPage Donations Start July 26; Schedule Pick-Up Service Now
The eighth annual Rummage RAMPage is set to take place from Friday, July 26 (donations only, no sales) through Saturday, August 3, at the Ames Intermodal Facility parking ramp located at 129 Hayward Ave. This community-wide garage sale features donated items and is run by volunteers from local non-profit organizations.
Rummage RAMPage is a collaborative initiative between the City of Ames and the Iowa State University Office of Sustainability. The event was created to repurpose items often left on the curb during the summer move-out and lease changeovers in Ames, helping to reduce waste by keeping usable items out of the landfill. All proceeds from the sale benefit the participating non-profit organizations. This year, more than 40 local non-profits have volunteered to support the event. Everyone is encouraged to donate items or come and shop.
If you have items to donate immediately, please reach out to local second-hand stores for information. For those looking to schedule a pick-up for Rummage RAMPage, services are available on Friday, July 26, Monday, July 29, and Tuesday, July 30, for a fee. These fees support local non-profit groups. Pick-up fees start at $15 for Iowa State students, $25 for residents, and $50 for in-home or office pickups, with additional costs for extra-large items or multiple pick-ups at the same address. Payment is required prior to the service.
