U.S. Election Set for November 5, 2024: See Ames Polling Locations
The 2024 U.S. General Election is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 5. Voters across the country will cast their ballots for key races, including the U.S. Presidential election, congressional seats, and various state and local offices.
In Ames, Iowa, polling stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. Residents can find their designated polling location by visiting the Story County Auditor’s website. Below is a list of polling stations in Ames:

Jackson Named Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week
Iowa State running back Jaylon Jackson has been named the Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week after leading the Cyclones to a 43-21 victory over Baylor on Saturday night.
Jackson, a native of Burleson, Texas, posted his first career 100-yard rushing game, tallying 107 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. He averaged 7.1 yards per carry, including a 51-yard run, marking his second consecutive game with a run of 50-plus yards.
His first touchdown—a 10-yard rush—put ISU ahead 26-21 late in the third quarter, while his second score sealed the win early in the fourth, extending the lead to 40-21.
No. 11 Iowa State will travel to West Virginia for a 7 p.m. CT kickoff on FOX this weekend, with their next home game on Oct. 19 against UCF.
The Cyclone Club supports over 450 Iowa State student-athletes by raising funds that help them compete at the highest level, while also preparing them for life after sports.
Cyclones Fall to Cincinnati in Day One of Big 12 Match Play
Iowa State opened Big 12 Match Play with a 4-1 loss to ninth-seeded Cincinnati. Luke Metcalf secured the Cyclones' lone victory, defeating William McDonald 3&2. Luke Gutschewski, Owen Sawyer, and Paul Beauvy narrowly lost their matches 1UP, while Zach May was defeated 3&1 by Connor McNeely.
The Cyclones will continue competition tomorrow at 7:45 a.m. against top-seeded Arizona State.
Paniro Johnson to Miss U23 World Championships
Paniro Johnson will miss the U23 World Championships in Tirana, Albania, later this month due to a minor injury sustained during training. Johnson is expected to recover in time for Iowa State's wrestle-offs in early to mid-November.
He was set to represent the U.S. in the men's freestyle division at 70 KG from Oct. 21-27 after securing a U23 national title in June to earn a spot on the USA Wrestling World Team.
Ames High Swim & Dive Dominates Home Invitational
Ames High girls swim and dive team claimed the team title at their home invitational over the weekend, finishing 152 points ahead of second-place Cedar Rapids Kennedy. The dominant performance boosts the Little Cyclones' record to 21-1-1 as they head into the final stretch of the season.
